Selenium in the soil-plant system: we study the effects of selenium addition on plant growth, plant senescence, fruit ripening and post-harvest shelf life of products.
Trace elements in the soil-plant system: our research is aimed at evaluating the trace elements in soil, their chemical availability and bioavailability, their uptake by cultivated plants, their translocation and accumulation in plant tissues.
Improvement of Iris spp cultivation in marginal rural areas: we study the aptitude of soils of Tuscany to the cultivation of rhizomes, which essential oils are used in perfume and flavour industries, and we investigate the innovative technologies to increase the plant production.
Requalification and management of urban soil and anthropic areas by the use of herbaceous native species (wildflowers).
