The activity is focused on the determination of plant diversity and microorganisms in soil and plant samples in natural and anthropic environments. While classic protocols are used for the identification and quantification of plant taxa, particularly in herbaceous systems, the 16S and ITS region metabarcoding is used to determine bacterial and fungal taxa in soil and plant samples (epiphytes and endophytes). For both studies, the activity involves the calculation of indexes, as Shannon, evenness, and Simpson, in relation to the richness and functional groups.
