The laboratory is involved in genetic and genomic analysis, activities are mainly focused on the study of genetic diversity of forest species such as chestnut, walnut, oak, and alder and molecular mechanisms of response to biotic and abiotic stresses.
Genetics: The methods mainly used are nucleic acid extraction and analysis with molecular markers such as Microsatellites (SSRs) and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).
Genomics: sample preparation for sequencing (WGS, SPET analysis, and RNAseq). Bioinformatics analysis of data.
