The gas chromatography laboratory deals with the analysis of chemical compounds in the air, studying the interaction between the environment and various elements to better understand climate change and plant ecophysiology. Air samples are collected in experimental fields or from closed systems in other facilities. The laboratory is equipped with a helium-fueled gas chromatography instrument and a new generation hydrogen-fueled instrument, both of which can be controlled remotely. There is a calibration system for mixing standard gases from cylinders and performing calibrations, as well as a system for cleaning and conditioning the tubes used to sample the gases for analysis.
