Taxonomy and animal diversity

In the Taxonomy and animal diversity laboratory we mainly deal with taxonomy, systematics, nomenclature and faunistics. The main activities concern the identification and description of new taxa, other nomenclatural acts, phylogenetic and biogeographic studies, including distribution analyses of alien species (also through online citizen science platforms).

The main lines of research concern insects (especially aquatic Hemiptera) and terrestrial isopods.
