Elena Paoletti named vice president of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO)

During the closing ceremony of the World Congress of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), Elena Paoletti was awarded the prestigious position of vice president of the same Union. Elena Paoletti, a research executive at the Terrestrial Ecosystems Research Institute (CNR-Iret) and head of the Secondary Operations Unit in Florence, received this important position during the last IUFRO Scientific Congress, held in Stockholm June 23-29 with the theme “Forests and Society towards 2050.” The IUFRO Union is a global network of female forest researchers that aims to promote international cooperation in forest research by improving understanding of the ecological, economic and social aspects of forests and trees. It has more than 15,000 scientists in nearly 700 member organizations in more than 110 countries.
