In the forest dynamics and management laboratory, activities pertaining to monitoring the health of forest ecosystems are carried out through the use of indicators, such as the nutritional status of trees assessed by leaf chemistry analysis, tree growth by reading annular widths, and the biological quality of soils by monitoring the groups of arthropods that colonize it (QBS-ar).

Relevant instrumentation

  • RinnTech’s TSAP-Win system (software + measuring station) for tree growth ring analysis
  • Mill for grinding organic materials (preparation for analysis)
  • Berlese-Tullgren selector
  • Wildlife Acoustics Recorders
